Derrynane Lodge is a restored Farm House idyllically located on the Ring of Kerry. It is set in its own private gardens on six acres of lush vegetation with wonderful views of local beaches, amazing coastline and surrounding mountainous landscape. The garden is fully enclosed with lawn areas intermingled with mature shrubs. Located in the grounds is an all weather tennis court. From Derrynane Lodge you can visit Derrynane National Park, walk along one of the best beaches in the country, swim off the pier and go sailing, kayaking and fishing, all without getting into your car. The village of Caherdaniel is a short drive of 2.8km. Freddie’s pub and grocery store located in the village will be one of your main ports of call. The Blind Piper pub, also in the village, serves food all year round and is worth a visit. During the summer months the local country market is open on Friday mornings. Two superb Blue Flag Beaches are within easy reach of Derrynane Lodge making it an ideal holiday venue. Derrynane Beach is a 5 minute drive and Ballinskelligs Beach a 30 mins drive.
For the sporting among you Derrynane Watersports Centre is located on the pier. It offers sailing, kayaking, windsurfing and water skiing during the month of May to October. Kids Camp operates during July and August. The famous Kerry Way, a must for the walking enthusiast, is located on your door step. For the golfer we have a number of top golf courses nearby. Waterville Links Golf Club and Skellig Bay are a 10 km drive away. Located further afield are Dooks Links, The Ring of Kerry, Parknasilla and Kenmare Golf Clubs. The Eagle Rock Equestrian Centre located in the village offers horseback trekking on the nearby beaches and flood plains all year round. Sea Angling, Lake and Shore fishing can be booked through local operators.
Derrynane Lodge is an ideal base from which to explore the Ring of Kerry, which has some of the finest beaches in this unspoilt mystical region of Ireland, Skellig Rock Heritage Site and Valentia Island. Killarney National Park and the famous Dingle Peninsula are within a two hour drive. Popular local restaurants located on the Ring are The Smugglers and Dooleys in Waterville, The Moorings of Portmagee, O’Neills The Point and Q C’s in Cahirciveen to name but a few.
The nearest airports are Kerry and Cork with a fast ferry service from Swansea, Pembroke, Fishguard and Holyhead.
